Meta Data

What is Meta Data?

In the context of SEO, metadata refers to the information embedded in the head section of a website's HTML code.

It provides search engines with details about a web page's content, purpose, and other important elements.

Metadata is not usually visible on the web page itself but can be seen in the page's source code.

Key components of metadata include meta title, meta description, meta keywords, and meta robots tag

Proper use of metadata can improve a website's SEO, making it easier for search engines to understand the content and context of webpages, and thereby increasing visibility to potential visitors.

However keep in mind, some components of metadata have no impact on ranking and relevance, like meta keywords.

Google says it does not consider meta keywords while ranking different web pages.
