When it comes to learning SEO for free, I've taken that route myself and found plenty of valuable resources out there if you're willing to put in the effort. A few key things that have really helped me are:

Joining active online SEO communities on platforms like Reddit and Facebook groups, attending free webinars etc. You can learn a ton by asking questions, participating in discussions and seeing how experienced SEOs think.

Using the wealth of free SEO tools - from Google's own Search Console and Analytics to crawler tools like Screaming Frog, and keyword research tools like Answer The Public and Ubersuggest among others.

Of course, also read the search engine webmaster guidelines from Google, Bing etc. to understand their recommendations for optimal SEO.

It does take consistent self-study, but you'd be surprised how much you can absorb for free from blogs, forums, courses and hands-on learning. With dedication and an eagerness to learn, there's no need to go broke trying to learn SEO.
