Crawl Rate Limit

What is Crawl Rate Limit?

The crawl rate limit is a set of rules that tell Google's web spiders or bots, how often and how much they can visit a website at one time. This is different for each website.

This limit is based on two main things. One is how well the website performs when Googlebot visits.

If the website is fast and doesn't slow down when Googlebot is looking through its pages, Googlebot can visit more often. But if the website starts to slow down, then it will back off and visit less.

Another aspect to consider involves the use of Google Search Console. Website administrators have the ability to manually adjust the crawl rate limit for their websites within the Site Settings section of this tool.

By doing so, they can control how frequently Googlebot scans their site.
